Privacy policy

This policy covers detroit75kitchen.com. It explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate.

What we collect

The catering estimator

If you use the estimate tool at /catering/estimate/ and submit it, we receive what you entered:

• Your name
• Your email address, phone number, or both, depending on how you asked us to reach you
• Details about your event: guest count, event type, format, date, time, address, company, dietary requirements and any notes you added
• The estimate we showed you, and how you responded to it

Nothing is sent until you submit. If you answer some questions and leave, we receive nothing. Your answers are stored in your own browser so you can pick up where you left off, and you can clear that at any time through your browser settings.

The contact form

If you send us a note through /contact/, we receive your name, email address, an optional phone number, the type of inquiry, and your message.

How you found us

If a link brings you here with a tracking tag on it, from a QR code, an email, a text message or a social post, we record which link it was and pass that along with your inquiry. That tells us which of our own channels are working. The tag on its own says nothing about you, and it is only recorded if you submit a form.

Online ordering

Food orders are not placed on this site. The Order Online link takes you to Appfront, the platform that runs our ordering at order.detroit75kitchen.com.

Anything you enter there — an account, an order, a payment, a delivery address — is collected and held by Appfront on our behalf, under their privacy policy rather than this one. We see the order details we need to make and deliver your food. We never see your full payment card details.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how people move through the site: which pages are visited, how long people stay, and roughly where in the world they are. Google sets cookies to do this. Google is an independent controller of that data, and their own privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy.

We also use Microsoft Clarity, which records how pages are used: where people tap, scroll and pause, and anonymised replays of visits. Anything typed into a form field is masked before it is recorded, so names, phone numbers, email addresses and messages are not captured. Microsoft's privacy statement applies to that data: privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement.

You can opt out of Google Analytics entirely using their browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or by blocking cookies in your browser. The site works normally either way.

Server logs

Our host, Cloudflare, keeps standard request logs including IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running. That is ordinary infrastructure logging and we do not use it to build profiles of visitors.

What we do with it

Inquiries go to our catering team so a person can reply to you. That is the whole purpose. We use the information to answer your question, price your event, and follow up if you asked us to.

We may keep your inquiry in our records so that if you come back to us later, we already know what we discussed.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your information to anyone
• We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers
• We do not run advertising or retargeting pixels on this site
• We do not add you to a marketing list because you asked for a quote

Who else handles it

To run the site and reply to you, a small number of services necessarily process your information on our behalf:

• Cloudflare hosts the site and handles form submissions
• Google Analytics measures site usage
• Microsoft Clarity records anonymised session replays and heatmaps, with form fields masked
• Google Workspace carries the emails your inquiry generates
• Appfront runs our online ordering at order.detroit75kitchen.com. If you place a food order or create an account there, Appfront handles that information under its own privacy policy, not this one

How long we keep it

Inquiries are kept as long as they are useful for serving you and for our own business records. If you would like yours deleted, ask us and we will do it.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email chat@detroit75.com and we will handle it. We will not ask you to justify the request.

Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under laws such as the CCPA or the GDPR. Those rights apply regardless of what this page says.

Children

This site is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we will remove it.

Changes

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
